Central Ontario Prince Philip Games Final Standings

The Central Ontario Region of Canadian Pony Club held its Prince Philip Games Finals on Sunday, July 5 at Royal Lane Farm between Highway 12 and Lindsay, north of Highway 7. Highlight results are shown below, with complete order of finish for this meet, and also cumulative standings, after the highlights.

At the A level, a combined Uxbridge-Scugog/Simcoe team won the Regional championship, with Rising Star second (no third place).  The members of the Uxbridge-Scugog/Simcoe team are James Cruikshanks, Crystal Geer, Jane Stephenson, Emily Stubbings and Rachel Stewart (Simcoe).  The Rising Star team included Megella Cadieux, Emily Lindsay, Kayla Weber, Lindsay Weber and Amy Westlund.

In the Masters competition, Uxbridge-Scugog also finished on top, with the Durham team second and a combined Rising Star/Uxbridge-Scugog entry third.  The Uxbridge-Scugog Masters team members were Kendra Abbey, Mori Cruikshanks, Sean Cruikshanks, Jesse Durward and Samantha Macdonald.  Durham’s team was made up of Carrie Doorenspleet, Rebecca Simmons, Alisha Shangraw and Amanda Treen.

The top Regional A and Masters teams go on to play for the Eastern Canada Championship against teams from the Western Ontario, Saint Lawrence-Ottawa Valley and possibly Nova Scotia Regions on July 29, with the Central Ontario Region hosting the meet this year. The two top Eastern Canadian A level teams then play against Western Canadian representatives for the National Championship, hosted this year by the British Columbia Lower Mainland Region. There is also a National Masters Championship, to be hosted by Central Ontario. Both national championships are scheduled for late August.

B and C teams compete at the Regional level only.

The Durham Pony Club team took the honours at the B level, with a combined Maple/Victoria team second and a combined Temiskaming/Northwoods team third.  The members of the Durham team were Kaisha Barber, Jake Durack, Jessica Rowe, Michelle Treen and Sarah Treen.

At the C level, Temiskaming was first, Centaurus second and a combined Uxbridge-Scugog/Simcoe team third.  Temiskaming’s team included Reid Archambault, Spencer Brisson, Kiara Crawford, Ashley Maille and Lynnsey St. Louis.
